You Appear Just Like A Dream To Me

Omgosh I can't believe I'm saying this but... I like a Miley Cyrus song! When I Look At You is a really awesome song! :D:D:D Anyway, June hols have officially started, so has antisocial intense mugging month! My last round of enjoying was Friday with Jolene, Rachtan and Lydia at Ion Orchard and today at Manhattan Fish Market with half our econs class. After today, it shall be some serious serious studying. NYU, HERE I COME!!! Talking to valteo last night was hilarious. I haven't laughed this much for quite some time. A-levels are getting into our heads and invading our minds!!! I feel like I'm just blabbering on and on but I don't feel very sane right now. Heh heh. My uncle's in the hospital after a major operation. I hope he gets well soon! Also, I found some Joe Hisaishi scoresheets online! Damn awesome. And lastly, NJ-RJ concert and Annual concert went GREAT! It was fun acting as a mad delusional girl, screaming and hearing my voice echo in the silence. And Tarentella was a real fun piece to play! Even though we cheated alot hehe. Okay, I shall end this off with a PHOTO! :)

I wrote a new song! Um, okay HALF a song! I still need my 2nd verse and bridge. Anyway, I'm posting for my own memory's sake and for people who actually still read my almost dead blog. :) Hope ya'll like.

Your Song

Ten thousand threads
Could possibly make me whole again
Would you stitch me up, stitch me up?
Cover the hole inside my heart

That constant rhythm
The sound of a drum thudding against
I can't remember, can't forget
How it stopped right when you left

I always thought that I could be strong
Thought I could stand alone without you
But I was wrong.

Could a song be a song if no one were listening?
Could anyone listen if no one ever said a word?
Could I say how I feel if you weren't right here with me?
Would you come back to me, come back to me?
If you heard your song.

Even Angels

I don't know why but I've been feeling rather down these few days even though I don't show it. I guess I get affected by other people a lot and I always try to read into things that people do or say. I'm thinking too much of irrelevant things that I should stop thinking about, but I can't help it. Which is why I'm gonna start on my intense mugging marathon again. I did that last year in June to get my mind off things, and it worked! :)

Went out with Gourmet yesterday. Actually, not exactly OUT but to Dorcas' house! I feel a lil bad keeping things from the other two but I have to keep promises and there are really things that I can't say. But so many things have happened, and all I can say is that I'm really afraid of losing my friends if one day things changed. Anyway, it was usual gourmet randomness and podcasting. I mean, podcOsting. Heh. Plus, David joined in our crazy talk and it was pretty fun.

I met Winston AND Seng Henk today! Coincidentally, at 2 different places. :) Always nice to see people you know around. Then I realize how small the world is. And I wanna find someone whom I can be totally honest to. Then I could just pour everything out. For now, music's my outlet and would always be. :D

We'll Be A Dream

This week has been SO bad and disgusting. I screwed up my CTs real bad, other than Econs which I thought I did my best in. Math and Chem were horrible. They were once my best subjects and now I think I might be happy with just a pass. Also, I went for Piano Ensemble camp yesterday when my phone got screwed up cuz some J1 girl threw her pebble so hard it flew and hit my phone. Now the whole screen's just white and I can't use it anymore... I'm so unlucky this week, must have walked past a dozen black cats or broken a thousand mirrors or something.

But last night cheered me up a little. Went to Esplanade with Willette to celebrate Earth Hour (we had nothing better to do haha). Watched this really cool group called OrkeStar Trio at the Outdoor Theatre. They were seriously WICKED. I was in awe of their unique music style, it was a combination of cultural and electronic and rock music. And listening to them really made me smile. Awesome stuff. Then Jo came to join us for dinner. Bought carrot cake and char kway teow from the Makansutra place and ate our food while the lights in the CBD slowly went out for Earth Hour. Gossiped quite a lot heh

Other than that, auditions for the play were interesting. I can't wait for mine and kiwi's script to be put on stage into action! I hope we can pull this off. We'll be awesome directors! :D

Today, my mom, sis and I decided to take things into our own hands! I had to dye my hair black cuz sxf complained, so I asked my mom to buy the DIY hair dye. Our house was literally a mini salon just now. My mom and sis had fun putting dye onto my hair I think, and it was pretty messy. Hehe. And it was a SUCCESS! Now my hair's black again... And my sis' hands are stained with the dye xD But it was quite a successful first attempt! :)

Shall end off this post with some really beautiful lyrics which I read in a CD in the Esplanade!

Ain't it a pretty night;
The sky's so heavy with stars tonight
That it could fall right down out of heaven
an' cover us up, an' cover us up
In one big blanket of velvets and diamonds

18 GOING ON 80 :)

Thanks to everyone who remembered my 18th birthday and made it special one way or another! Although there were some people I really wished wished me on my birthday, but I still feel really blessed to have many friends who remembered! :) Thanks to everyone who wished me on SMS, MSN or FB! Some were really really REALLY unexpected and it made me smile! :) And thanks for all the awesome presents as well!

Last week, I went for movies with Shaun, Nazy, Jean, Rach and Jia Hao for early birthday celebration. I was quite sad though, people came late by more than an hour and it really made me feel as if I didn't mean as much to them as they meant to me. But I still hope to believe that I hold at least some place in their hearts because I do cherish these friendships. Other than that, Alice in Wonderland is a really good movie, especially with Johnny Depp! I was real ecstatic to see my favorite childhood story being turned into a movie! (:

Today's celebration was really fun. :) Willette, Valteo, Celine, Dorcas and Kiwi came over to play! Played, ahem, guessing games with mangoes, cranberries and paPAyas! We had fun looking through our old yearbooks, gossiping about the latest news xD, and playing cards! Lots of games and laughter! I swear I haven't had so much fun since forever! I'm really glad we're still great friends after these 2 hectic years in JC. Watched David's funny birthday video for me! LOVED IT. IT WAS EPIC. :D BEATBOXING WAS AWESOME! Then they delivered the J Co. Donuts with a speech prepared using the donuts! HEHE it was so cute. And with all the random little stuff which they got for me! :D And my family and maid prepared most of the stuff for my birthday "buffet" for us! There was cake, sushi and everything nice! YAY. I feel so blessed to have such awesome friends and family and maid! PHOTOS!

My PW group + Si Ling also surprised me with a cool backpack in school! :) Amanda made a surprise appearance at my house today with a big balloon also! And Kris and Kel came over late at night on my birthday to play cards! And Kayleigh gave me a really pretty black dress as well! HEHE. I LOVE MY FRIENDS. MORE PHOTOS~

This birthday was pretty awesome! :) For every person who remembered, it made my day much better! Now that I'm legal... BRING IN THE ALCOHOL! Haha just kidding. Time to study hard for A-levels! :)

Welcome to Oblivion

I guess I sorta woke up today. From everything I thought used to be or could be. I don't think anyone understands a word of this paragraph but I shall take it as an outlet for what I'm thinking now. I always thought maybe one day what I do would be worth it, but today I realize I'm walking through a black hole, a neverending maze. So today, I will stop. I will stop thinking, or hoping.
Sometimes when you know the truth, it makes everything else seem like a lie - Edgar, Valentine's Day.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, piano ensemble held a G(Love) concert at VJC last Thursday! It was pretty successful, according to my friend's friend. Our piece was okay I guess, I made a couple of mistakes. But I don't think anyone heard them hehe. I made a few VJ friends and we had fun camwhoring backstage during the 2nd half of the concert!

And on Friday, we had the SANDsational take 5! :) I think our class, or at least parts of the class, really bonded after this event. It was really fun because we got to play Captain's Ball! Which was what I did with my OG last year at take 5 but it's too bad we're separated now. :( But class was fun! Ms Ng and Ms Soh joined us in the ball games! And Kiat Hong said I was fast hehe. It's the only game which I can really run around without feeling tired! And I hung out with different people in class which was awesome.

And the past 3 days were CHINESE NEW YEAR! It wasn't all that exciting for me, cuz I have very few relatives to visit. :( But today my mom took our family out to watch Valentine's Day! And we had buffet at this lousy hotel. We read about it in the newspapers and it seemed pretty good. But when we got there, it was really disappointing. Then, at night, we caught the 9pm movie The Little Big Soldier with our cousins! It was HILARIOUS. If you haven't seen it, GO GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!! I swear, I haven't laughed this much since... the last time I watched Whose Line. xD

Okay time to sleep. This chinese new year, I hope everyone's happy and healthy. And I hope to catch up with the people I miss! I also wish for my A's in A-levels and for everything else to go well in life. :)

Sputter

School has been PRITTAE fun! Even though work has gone up and I still fall asleep with all my work on my bed, my friends make me feel a lot better! Zee and I just got through to the finals for Talentime! Hopefully we get through to TAKE 5! Pam and Sandy also brought their hamsters to school today and declared Hamster's Day! They were SO cute. I think I would want a hamster someday. The bio lecturer brought a spider toy to lecture today. It got thrown around and got a few girls screaming HAHAHA. Pure comedy man. Also, I'm typing on my brand new MACBOOK PRO! HOHOHO. Life's good.

Plus, I found a new song which I love ttm! It's called Perfect by Hedley. I've heard Old School by them before, not bad either. But perfect is plain AWESOMENESS. The Academy Is...'s Sputter is pretty good as well. Winston also sent me quite a number of Jap songs to uhm... influence me. Heh. Anyway, YY, Kiwi and I are gonna be performing at VJ-RJ piano charity concert for the Children Cancer Foundation on 11th Feb. Come support us if you're free and bring money to donate! The concert's free so take it like you're paying for a ticket! :)

Interviews for the J1s were FUN! Some of them are so hilarious they make my life as an interviewer so much more interesting. And plus, with Joel and Tony as partners... how boring could it get?! HAHA.

Anyway, time to get back to work. Wasted alot of time slacking and on youtube. :O I'm supposed to be a fulltime mugger! :/ Oh well... Quote:
GP Teacher: "So in Buddhism, the value is that we work and work so hard to reach a goal, then it's gone! And then we work and work again, but in a second, it's gone! So this means that life is always changing."
Bryan: "We study study study... then in the end what is it for? NOTHING!!!!!! So let's not study at all!"

Hahaha. Gotta love having Bryan in your class. :)

MEET MOCHI

The second half of my holidays was spent on organizing COUNTDOWN! Although we all became ultimate saikang warriors (even more ultimate than ultimate frisbee!), countdown @ Boon Lay was a blast! BOON LAY ROCKS. That theme SO suits the concert, even though I missed most of it running around. ULTIMATEly, the countdown was a success, and I bet everyone loved it! Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZHAOYANG! Even though you'll never get to see this! I hope you had a rockin birthday. HOHO. After the countdown, we stayed over and watched an R21 movie called "Hungover" I think. A few guys got drunk and couldn't walk in a straight line LOL. Jun Xiang got drunk on sparkling juice... Uhm. YEAH. Mark, Jun Xiang, Kiwi and I played Bridge and Cheat through the night! I'm so proud of myself, I didn't sleep at all! But I died the moment I got onto Mark's car cuz he offered me a lift home. Haha. Which I am soooo grateful for! :)

Another highlight of my holiday was... XMAS PARTY with my neighbors! Haven't met up in such a long time! Played games, blew bubbles, then took Zi Gen's car to play pool at marine parade! :D Met up with Terrence after that and took a group photo! But Kelvin hasn't sent me the photos yet so... :(

5th Jan! Our PW group met up to do up a new COOL and SEXAYE pair of shoes for Shaun's birthday! I bet we're the only PW group who still meets up so regularly! Hahaha. Anyway, Mochi is Winston's new pet dog! Which Mavis bought from CHINA! Here are photos of Shaun's SMEXAYE new shoes and us with our new PW pet MOCHI!

Okay end of updates for now! It's 1:11am and there's school tomorrow! :( If only Monday Blues could be music to my ears like the music form. Maybe if I learnt to appreciate Jazz, I'd learn to love the Monday Blues! For now, good night cheshire cat! Keep smiling~

CHINESE IN CHINA

It was winter. But IT DIDN'T SNOW. :( At least not in my time there. I have never seen snow in my life, so I was pretty disappointed.

Bei Jing was quite a modern city. My mom and I signed up for a tour group, which we later found out consists of the tour guide, the driver, me, my mom and maybe my imaginary friends. Everything was in Chinese. I COULD understand, but I didn't wanna speak the language. I remember how Michelle used to laugh at my weird accent of speaking Chinese during tuition, so I decided I would use it minimally. I bet the tour guide thought I was austistic, cause I only spoke about maybe 15 sentences to her throughout the 3 days she spent with us.

The first thing that I learnt about Bei Jing is that apart from the airport, ALL the toilets were squatting toilets. And that some of the people there DO NOT close their doors when they pee. Or shit. I remember walking into this mall's toilet. And it was very dimly lit. There was only 2 lights in a toilet with more than 10 cubicles. So only 3-4 cubicles actually had light shining on them. I decided to choose those that were bright enough, and I walked to one where the door was open. I was about to step inside, when I saw this middle-aged woman squatting there! And I think she was shitting, because after I finished peeing in another toilet, she was still there. Yeah, I was SO disturbed.

The second thing that struck me was that Bei Jing-ers ate insects. I was walking on Wang Fu Jing street and I saw a couple of vendors selling scorpions, beetles, worms and even STARFISH! All that went through my mind was "!!!!!!!".

Anyway, here's what I did in BeiJing!

On the first day, we went to visit the Forbidden City, Tian An Men Square, several parks and other historical sites. We also rode the trishaw and went to watch 杂技, a chinese circus performance. PHOTOS!

^My mom and I at the FORBIDDEN CITY

^Lunch. These were all the food we COULDN'T finish.

^I think this is the Bei Hai park. Either that or Jing Shan park.

^STARBUCKS!!!

^This guy blows candy into shapes of animals. He calls himself an ARTIST. :)

^ My mom and I took a ride in the trishaw!

^The circus performance. There was a guy in that big bowl which the girl was twirling with her legs o.O
The whole performance was WICKED. The girls there bend as if they had no spines.

On the second day, we went to Wang Fu Jing street! Ate the Peking Duck for lunch. Also, we visited the Temple of Heaven, another park, and walked abit at Hong Qiao mall. At night, we watched The Legend of Chun Yi, a Martial Arts performance.

^Wang Fu Jing street. It is also the place where insects are for sale. As FOOD.

^The park...

^Me and my mom at the Peking Duck restaurant

^Stairway to Heaven~

^Temple of Heaven! Where the Emperor used to pray to the celestial gods.

^At the park, this woman was doing the ribbon dance!

^Also at the park, where all the older folks spend their leisure time dancing!
I want my life to be like that when I retire. It's like they have no more worries anymore and are having the time of their lives. NO MORE REGRETZ.

^The martial arts performance. The monks can balance themselves on arrows and break wood and metal with their heads! The storyline was real cheesy though xD

On the third day, we visited the Jade factory. Then, we went to climb the GREAT WALL OF CHINA. I sorta expected it to be more magnificent though. From where I was, it didn't look that long. I couldn't see past the hill. But still, it was awesome to see one of the wonders of the world. Next, we went to eat.... ALOT. 11 dishes for 2 people. DO THEY THINK WE ARE PIGS! After that, we went to the Summer Palace, where I walked into the lake which was ice :)

^A woman carving the Jade

^The Great Wall of China!
^I absolutely LOVE their English.

^The 11-course lunch. This was taken AFTER we have eaten till our stomachs were ready to explode.

^To tell you the truth, I was walking on thin ice. xD
I wouldn't recommend playing icebreakers. Hehe.

^This is the tour guide. Her name's 小红.

^At the road to the Summer Palace

On the fourth day, I met up with MAVIS! :D:D:D
We went to eat KFC and went to Xi Dan mall together. :)

And that's the end of my Bei Jing travel journal!
Flew back to Singapore and was real grateful for all the sitting toilets.
Overall, this trip was an educational one. Although I couldn't absorb half of what was told to me, I learnt some pretty interesting stuff and also the Bei Jing way of life.

A Goddamned Arms Race

I am finally exercising everyday. From today onwards, piano is gonna take over my life. Up till dooms day, when my life ends on 11 Dec. Today, 2 hours of piano! Tomorrow, I guess I'll do another 2. And on Wednesday, it'll be 4 hours straight! I hope it'll all be worth it. :)

I finally watched 2012 with Mavis! I think PW has brought us even closer together, and I'm real grateful to have her as a friend! :) 2012 was an awesome movie, even though The Day After Tomorrow still tops my charts. There was lots of action and the effects were kinda cool. But I thought it was a TEENY bit too exaggerated that it seemed unreal. And the events kinda happened too suddenly. Overall, it was still great though. Catch it if you can.

Caught Gokusen with my mommy on Sunday. It was umm... retarded. Haha. It WAS funny occasionally, but in an overdramatic-stephen-chow-movie kinda way. Oh well. Anyway, I LOVE the papaya soup from Xin Wang Cafe! OMG. It was so freakin awesome. I'm definitely going there again. :)

Time to do Math tutorial. I think I'm getting too lazy. I'm gonna start working hard. Must finish half of Math tutorial today! Gentlemen, start your engines~

Without Wax

RJ004 goes fly kite! My PW group decided to do something special for once. So we went to East Coast Park to fly kites! It was so funny, because Winston finally got his kite up after a few tries but it got stuck in a tree! And when he finally got it down and flew it again, it started to rain. Mavis' kite just failed from the start. Hahaha. Oh well, it was a fun 2-minutes experience flying a kite. I don't think I've ever flown one before. xD So yeah, it started to rain cats, dogs and I swear, cows too. So we seeked shelter at a nearby underpass which didn't exactly lead to anywhere. We just sat down on the steps and started talking. Random stuff as usual. I don't think we bitched that much this time. Hehe. When the rain got lighter, we went to play pool! Van and I won Mavis and Winston 5-0! And the crowd goes wild!!! It was awesome. I swear I'm getting good at it. :D Then we went to eat Subway and went to the arcade! Winston's super good at the hoops. He owned me and Van. :O And we played Daytona! I lost to Winston in the last second cause he knocked my car upside down. -.-" I still love my group! They're the best. :)

Anyway, I need to talk about the most embarassing moment of my life! It was a Tuesday afternoon, and we had Econs lecture! When I was leaving the lecture hall, I tripped down the stairs and twisted my foot! And I hopped out of the lecture hall in front of many many people! Couldn't walk for half a day and was limping for the other half. But Lydia, Si Ling and Mavis sorta lent me their shoulders for support. I was like... almost handicapped. :O But I love my classmates for showing so much concern. Jin asked me everyday after that if my foot was okay. And many other people too! Now, I think it should be okay. It hurts a bit now and then, but I can walk properly already! :D

Went to Nazy's house yesterday with Shaun. Watched FRIENDS! And Hannah Montana. HEHE. I love Chandler. He's the funniest guy in Friends! Went to Esplanade today with Kiwi and Wil. They had to do some H3 music stuff in the library. So I did BIO for 2 hours! And I still can't finish the freakin tutorial. It's CRAZYYY.

Okay time to get back to work and music! And reading Deception Point. :) TATA! (box)

AUTOMATIC

Class gathering was kinda fun! Played random wii games with Becca, Xinwei and Valteo, and then had dinner & gossip with other 401-ers, then went crazy with yitong and valteo at the pool! I love Elaine's house! It's like my dream house minus a pool table. :) And her mom makes awesome tiramisu~ we also camwhored and did the usuals. Hehe.

PW pool session again yesterday! I'm getting better at it, I swear. It rained so bad we couldn't even do our filming. We went through the rain and stormy weather together and finally made it to Shaun's house! Aww. Then we decided to go for pool and grabbed dinner at Xin Wang Cafe. Winston ordered a HUGE pot of soya beancurd zomg. Meeting again tomorrow, probably one of the last times we'll be meeting. I'll definitely miss my group. We went through so much together... The rain, the mosquitoes, burning the midnight oil. And they were really awesome team mates. I wouldn't have made it through without each and every one of them. :) LOVE YA UMBRELLAASSS. xD

TOKIO HOTEL - BEST GROUP @ EMAs!

I love their new album - Humanoid! One day, when I have enough money, I'll go get it! "World Behind My Wall" is an AWESOME song! I love Tokio Hotel! :) Watched the EMAs on MTV. Their live performance was damn good. Bill's hair was pretty cool! Oversized mohawk. :D

Also, I just found out that Marianas Trench's Cross My Heart has an acoustic version! Listened to it on Youtube, and it was amazing. Josh Ramsay is a genius. And MT is the coolest band in the world. :)

And I love Adam Lambert's song - Time for Miracles! It's from the movie 2012, which I really wanna catch. :) I wonder where I'll be in 2012. Will my friends still be my friends? Will I be living the life I wanna live? Need to study hard. UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER - that's my goal! :D
